Rules for HOUSEHOLD garbage collection
●Household garbage is to be bagged and placed in your waste can or dumpster. Bags need to be tied securely shut. Loose trash may be left in your receptacle. No trash bags should be over 50 lbs. If a container is too large or heavy, and/or we cannot pull bags out, we may choose not to remove trash.
●Garbage cans should be no larger than 32 gallons each. Dawson Construction does not supply garbage cans, only dumpsters. If cans are left outside, holes should be drilled to allow rainwater to drain from can. Try to keep lids on cans if possible, to prevent animals from dragging trash out of the container.
●Any dusty, loose material is to be placed in bags to prevent litter. Place any sharp objects in containers (such as a metal or plastic coffee can) to prevent injury. Cat litter and animal feces need to be bagged. Do not throw loose litter into cans or dumpsters, it will stick and/or freeze to the container.
●Cardboard boxes need to be broken down flat.
●Overage fees may apply to overloaded dumpsters/receptacles. This can occur if the receptacle is overfull, and/or debris is stacked on top of the lids or outside of the container.
●For our crew’s safety, keep dog(s) locked in a separate area from where the dumpster is on your scheduled date.
●If dumpster/receptacle is blocked by snow, vehicles, or anything else that would prevent the truck getting to the area when we arrive, you will still be charged for that stop.
Here is a list of some of the items to NOT place in your waste bins and that we will not accept:
- TIRES
- Freon Appliances
- DIRT, Yard Waste or Brush, Branches, ect
- Automotive, motorcycle or lawn mower parts
- Car batteries
- Waste Oil or Motor Oil
- Hazardous waste or infectious waste
- Fertilizers, Herbicides or Pesticides
- Propane or other pressurized gas tanks
- Liquid Paint (Paint cans ONLY accepted if the lid is off and the pain is totally dried out)
